Why Hexagonal Mesh Geometry Matters

  • Mechanical interlock: The hex pattern creates multi-directional stress distribution, allowing coatings to “key into” the mesh and preventing slippage within the waterproofing layer. 

  • Crack-bridging capacity: Closed-loop cells spread tensile loads around emerging cracks, improving elongation at break and fatigue resistance under thermal cycling.

  • Resin flow & wet-out: Hex cells balance open area and filament contact points, enabling uniform resin/mortar penetration without excessive consumption.

  • Edge stability: Heat-set PET yarns maintain mesh shape during troweling or roller application, minimizing fish-eyes and wrinkles.
